Robins in Reverse

Went out this morning to see the hay field in front of the house full of Robins. I had to wonder – when you see Robins in March it announces the coming of Spring . . . so does this rule of Nature work in reverse . . . when you see Robins in November does it mean the coming of Winter? Guess I’ll have to wait and see how soon it is before it starts to get cold. (I know cold is relative – but anything below 40 degrees is cold to me.)

This of course gets me to thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas and all the wonderful, tasty goodies I’ll be making. I have a few treats I only make once a year at holiday time – mainly because I’d weight 500 pounds if I made them year around. Some are sugar-free, some are not. . . mostly not. But I do have a recipe for sugar-free cranberry sauce if you’re looking for one. The canned variety is loaded with sugar. And, I’ll give you a hint on this one – start looking for sugar-free Cranberry Jello mix at the store. One box is good for 1 package of fresh cranberries.

I’ll be posting these recipes as I make them and hope you’ll find some that you’ll like. I know that David can hardly wait. Even though he’s diabetic we make a few exceptions around the holidays so he can enjoy some desserts that aren’t sugar-free.
