With the temperature staying in the triple digits and going as high as 110 on some days, we’ve pretty much been trying to finish our outside chores by 10am and then stay inside for the rest of the day. About the only time I go out is to move the water sprinklers. Living in the middle of a [...] It’s been just too hot to do much this week – although against better judgement, David and I did start cleaning out the garage in anticipation of a new cement floor. To stay ahead of mealtimes, I’ve done a little extra cooking so that I can just re-heat and mix-n-match the leftovers. That being said [...] I’ve spent just about every evening (after 8 when it’s cool-er) picking blueberries. I am stunned how many blueberries that one bush has produced. We’ve really enjoyed them and I’m sure I’ll have enough in the freezer to last me a few more months. Right now my plan is to make a trifle for the [...] No excuses for being slow with this post – but in defense, I have to say it has been very busy around here. We did quite a bit of work in the yard over the weekend – replaced the cedar border along the front flowerbed with rocks. Looks much nicer. Also bought some shredded cedar mulch to fill [...] |
